Multum in Parvo

An art exhibition “50 x 32″ by 15 contemporary artists of Bengal at the Academy of Fine Arts

The term multum in parvo means ‘many things in a small space’. A sudden call from the AFA booking office led to a dizzyingly rapid decision –finalized in a couple of hours, in fact– by fifteen Bengalee artists to hold this exhibition. While the space was initially offered to BAI, its members were too occupied with other activities at the time to have a show entirely of their own; yet they did not want to lose this opportunity to exhibit their work. Therefore, hoping to share the cost as well as the organizational tasks, they invited several other artists to join them in sharing their recent creative outputs. Put together in a lightning speed, the show will open at 6 pm on the 11th of February, 2015, under the leadership of BAI, which has also launched a publicity campaign in paper and in the cyber space. In addition, BAI, BanglaBlog and BanglaBlogaru share the responsibility to post news and discussion about the exhibition on the web. All are welcome!

The participating artists are:

Asutosh Bhattacharjee, Biswa Basu, Bilendranath Mondal, Manjushree Ghose, Nabakumar Chakrabarty, Prabal C. Boral, Partha Pratim Mondal, Nabakumar Chakrabarty, Parag Roy, Pradipta Saha, Sumit Choudhury, Sarabita Das, Sandhyakar Kayal, Sudip Rakshit, Sukti Roy and Nilotpal Sinha.

The exhibition will be open until the 17th of February, 2015, daily between 3 and 8 pm, at the North Gallery of the Academy of Fine Arts, 2 Cathedral Road, Kolkata-700 071.
